The Plan Review Section within the Building Division of the City of Boise Planning & Development Services Department is soliciting proposals from firms to provide Structural Engineering Plan Check Services for projects which require additional technical review. The anticipated services will relate primarily to the structural review of new structures, additions to existing structures and remodeled projects which will be submitted to the reviewing engineer by the Boise City Planning and Development Services Department. The structural review will consist of reviewing plans and calculations to ensure compliance with current adopted City Building Code Ordinances and the International Building Code, International Existing Building Code, and International Residential Code, including referenced standards. The expertise that is required must encompass standard design practices for live and dead loads, and earthquake and wind forces on multi-story, high-rise, concrete tilt-ups, engineered metal buildings, steel framed, wood framed, and concrete masonry structures, among others. The City will contract with multiple consultants, and each will receive a portion of the annual estimate. Plan reviews will be conducted using electronic plan review software.
