A. Front Lot 1. The contractor shall plow the main administrative office parking area which includes the two driveways. One leads out to Highway 5 and one leads to 18th street 2. The contractor shall plow the front lot when snow reaches twoinch depth unless otherwise directed by the Contract Officer Representative (C.O.R.). Plowed snow will be piled at locations on the facility site designated by the C.O.R. 3. All plowing shall be done before 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. No plowing shall be done between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday unless otherwise directed by the C.O.R. It will not be necessary to plow before weekend days or state observed holidays (Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, and President’s Day). However, any snow accumulation greater than three inches must be removed prior to 7:00 a.m. the next regular workday (Monday through Friday). Typically, snow should only be plowed once in a twenty-fourhour period. In rare instances of unusually large snow accumulations, the contractor may be requested to plow more than one occasion within a twenty-four-hour period. B. Bottom Lot (18th access and Center Access) 1. The contractor shall plow the side and bottom lots that provide employee parking. Sidewalks are not included and should be kept free from snow from snow plowing activities. 2. The contractor shall plow the bottom lot when snow reaches two-inch depth unless otherwise directed by the C.O.R. Plowed snow will be piled at locations on the facility site designated by the C. O. R. 3. All plowing shall be done before 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. No plowing shall be done between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday unless otherwise directed by the C.O.R. It will not be necessary to plow before weekend days or state observed holidays (Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, and President’s Day). The contractor shall plow the vehicle compound lot as requested by the C.O.R. The vehicle compound lot includes all areas inside the compound fence except the area adjacent to Center Ave.; however, the contractor shall not plow closer than 2 feet from structures/equipment and may not block vehicles with snow berms. 2. The contractor shall use care to avoid damage to the compound fence. Large accumulations of snow shall not be pushed against the fence. 3. Plowed snow will be piled at locations on the facility site designated by the C.O.R. 4. In order to allow vehicles to be moved out of the way, plowing times for the rear lot shall be during the period between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, at specific times mutually agreed to between the contractor and the C.O.R. The rear lot shall not be plowed on weekends or state observed holidays (Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, and President’s Day). D. Contractor must have equipment capable of piling the snow in piles of up to eight feet in height on areas specified by the C.O.R. When requested by the C.O.R., the contractor must also have the capability to haul excessive snow off site when more room is needed to pile snow. The contractor is responsible for finding a site to dump the snow and getting the necessary permission from the landowner. Snowplow blades mounted on sport utility vehicles will not be allowed under the provisions of this contract. E. The contractor and the C.O.R. will conduct a pre-work meeting before the start of this contract to discuss plowing patterns, designated snow stockpile areas, and special considerations to protect the facility’s lawn and landscaping, fencing, and buildings. Additional meetings may be required to discuss these issues depending upon the amount and accumulation of snowfall during the winter.
