A. The Contractor must perform on-site preventive maintenance inspections, consultations, and repairs for the existing medical equipment as follows: 1. Schedule the service calls with the Department and arrange for the following: a. Determine and discuss with the Department a service call plan regarding: i. The date and time for the service call to begin, and the anticipated length of the service call, such as number of hours or number of days, etc. For example, a service call may be arranged to inspect the existing equipment inventory over a few consecutive days as mutually agreeable to all parties. ii. The number of equipment items to be serviced. b. Perform the preventive maintenance inspections according to the standards set forth by the Joint Commission, the manufacturer’s specifications, as well as consultation with the Contract Monitor. c. Provide consultations with the Department regarding: i. The condition of equipment, needed repairs, and advice regarding the cost of repair versus the cost of a new equipment replacement. ii. Options for considering newer equipment based on industry standards and/or technology improvements. d. Perform additional work on an as-needed basis, as determined and requested by the Department via purchase/work order. 2. Perform repairs after consulting with and getting approval from the Department via work/purchase order. a. Labor and parts estimate must be provided to the Department. b. Costs of repair labor and parts will be paid according to the Cost/Billing Procedure section. 3. Provide service call completion documentation to the Department that identifies all work completed at the specified service call and include, but not limited to, the date, time, equipment name/identifying description.
