Specifications include, but are not limited to: The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores (NCA/PKS) is open seven (7) day a week, 362 days a year.The Aquarium is closed Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, and New Year s Day, therefore, there is no need forhousekeeping on those days. The Aquarium expects to entertain approximately 450,000 visitors annually. Ithas been determined that the Aquarium requires supplemental services of a cleaning contractor to assist inperforming daily housekeeping services, possible assistance in providing coverage of evening events, andproviding coverage during the absence of full-time NCA/PKS housekeeping staff. Although this contract willbe year round it will be somewhat seasonal in nature in that it will require different levels of staffing at differenttimes of the year. Therefore this contract will be bid and billed on a per man/hour basis. Any additionalcontractual needs will be on case-to-case basis and shall also be on an hourly rate. All policies that apply toroutine housekeeping will also apply to covering staff absence and staff hourly contract after-hoursassistance. The successful bidder will appoint a lead person or manager that will have an ongoing onsitepresence and be responsible for scheduling and accounting for their workers time and quality of work.Dates and anticipated staffing levels:January 2nd through February 28th (29th) - 2 persons on Saturdays and Sundays onlyMarch 1st through April 30th - 2 persons, 7 days per weekMay 1st through October 31st 3 persons, 7 days per weekNovember 1st through December 31st 2 persons, 7 days per week
