The program consists of three (3) main components, the Licensing and Survey System, the Provider Portal and a Public Portal. The system replaced an old Microsoft Access database, several Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word templates. The software allows the Assisted Living Program to complete the following functions: licensing of assisted living facilities, survey of assisted living facilities, incident reporting from providers, event management for provider training events, appeal tracking, payment processing for civil monetary penalties and building evaluation fees, enforcement tracking, linked communications tool with providers, template building and integration for investigative reports, numerous investigative reports, a public facing portal for consumers seeking placement, and a provider portal that allows providers to communicate with the Department and upload deficiency responses.
