Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Sodium Chloride Road Salt product must meet all the specifications of the American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM D632-12 and match the specifications set forth by the Pacific Northwest Snow Fighters (PNS) Category 8B, unless specified differently in this document. The Sodium Chloride Road Salt shall be obtained from natural deposits (rock salt) or producedby man (evaporated, solar, and other) for use as a de-icier for maintenance purposes. Proposals must include theSafety Data Sheetof the product being proposed in the bid schedule. Chemical Composition: The minimum percent Sodium Chloride (NaCl) shall be as follows for the material ordered: Sodium Chloride (NaCl) content shall be no less than 95.0 percent.Salt must meet ASTM D632 specifications for Sodium Chloride Type 1, Grade 2.Gradation:The rock salt shall comply with the following graduation requirements:SIEVE SIZE PERCENT PASSSING (BY WEIGHT)1/2”(12.50mm) 1003/8”(9.5mm) 95 - 100
