Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.0 The Contractor shall mobilize a pump installation rig and all necessary equipment and tools to complete this project as soon as possible after award of the contract and issuance of Notice To Proceed. 2.0 The Department will disconnect the deep well motor cables at the motor’s junction box and disconnect the pre-lube piping as needed. The Contractor shall remove the deepwell pump assembly unit consisting of: a 10” pump discharge head assembly; 225+ feet of 10” diameter pipe column and combination couplings with Neoprene bearings, 225+ feet of 1-1/2” stainless steel line shaft and shaft sleeves and couplings, 225+ feet of 1/4” brass air line tubes; 5 stage Layne Model 13CL pump bowl assembly with strainer; and a 100 horsepower US Electric, 3 phase, 460 volt hollow shaft vertical electric motor. The existing 1/4” air line brass tubing shall be replaced with 3/8” black plastic tubing. 3.0 The contractor shall inspect and analyze the existing pump assembly and provide a recommendation of parts to replace and/or rehabilitate. The Contactor shall provide a list of all recommended additional replacement parts and/or rehabilitation work along with a cost proposal for the additional recommended work. The Department will review the list and provide direction to the Contractor. Contractor shall send out the motor for refurbishment and rewinding. 4.0 After the existing pump assembly has been removed, the contractor shall measure well water level and sound the bottom of the well. The Contractor shall then brush the well casing and suction bail the well. The Contractor shall then re-measure the well water level and sound the bottom of the well. The Contractor shall video tape the entire depth of the well. A copy of the video shall be provided to the Department on a CD.
