Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Accept youth with a status offense and qualifying first time misdemeanor, dropped off and/or referred by HPD’s District 5 patrolling Officers. 2. Confirm eligibility criteria, screen for safety or medical concerns including intoxication, immediate crisis/mental health interventions and screen for symptoms of COVID-19 before the release of custody from HPD to the JAC. 3. Provide risk/needs screening and assessments, individualized service plans with short- and long-term goals, referral to interventions and needed services, facilitate access to services, respond to crisis and ongoing needs, and monitor service plan progress. 4. Educate the youth and family on the juvenile justice system. Utilize language interpreters when necessary or requested.
