The Department of Health (DOH), Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (ADAD), Treatment and Recovery Branch (TRB) is seeking comments and feedback in the development of its Request for Proposal (RFP) for substance use disorder (SUD) Outpatient Services for Adults on the island of Lāna‘i TRB requests information specific to the following questions: Lānaʻi is a rural island in Maui County with limited healthcare infrastructure and behavioral health services. Substance use disorders (SUDs) remain a concern with access to relevant services limited due to geographic isolation. Within the substance use population on Lānaʻi what are the sub-populations? What are the predominant substances being used in Lānaʻi’s community? Please include information on primary, secondary, and tertiary substances used and the frequency and method used. What are the most significant barriers to community members accessing SUD treatment, including but not limited to geographic location?
