Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. Security Personnel are required to take a standing position at all times near the reception counter whenever members of the public are in the offices. At other times and except for authorized breaks, the security personnel shall remain in the reception area – seating will be provided. b. Provide security services for the reception and hearing office areas to discourage and prevent verbal and physical confrontations between the public and/or the agency staff; c. Maintain order within the Hilo Family Support Office & Hilo Operations Office reception, interview and hearing areas, including maintaining laws, rules and regulations for the protection and security of the agency staff; d. Escort from the premises any individual who becomes verbally or physically threatening at the direction of the Branch Manager or designee; e. No physical contact of any kind shall be initiated by the security staff; f. Contact the police department when serious situations arise with individuals who cannot be controlled or removed from the office without physical intervention; g. Provide directions and instructions to the persons seeking information regarding restroom location in the building, exit locations, instruction regarding use of the lockers located in the reception area, instructions regarding unacceptability of weapons in the reception and interviewing rooms, and any other information specified by the agency’s Branch Manager; h. Comply with rules, policies and procedures regarding the confidentiality of CSEA clients; i. Comply with office and building rules including prohibition against smoking in nondesignated areas; j. Report to the Hawaii Island Branch Manager or designee of any problem within the public reception area, such as suspicious persons or unusual incidents.
