The Hawaii State Department of Education (Department), Office of Student Support Services (OSSS), School Health Section (SHS) requests community input to facilitate planning activities and development of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the provision of SCHOOL NURSING SERVICES including school-level nursing services (i.e., entire school population) and/or to individual student(s) with complex health conditions requiring more direct and close nursing management of their medical condition(s) per their individualized healthcare plans, including medical orders, as part of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Section 504 Plan (504 Plan). The services are part of the array of school health and school nursing services provided to all students under the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments of 2008, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (reauthorized 2004) in addition to HRS 302A, HAR 8-60, HRS 457, and HAR 16-89.
