Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Defense (DOD), Administrative Services Office, requests community input to facilitate the departments planning activities and development of a request for proposals for services under a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. The purpose of this RFI is to seek expressions of interest and comments from potential service providers or individuals in the Civic Justice Corps. The Civic Justice Corps program shall provide community service projects for 18-24 y/o ex-offenders to repair the harm that they may have caused to the community in which they expect to return. This community service work effort will offer them a chance to demonstrate accountability for their past actions, make reparations to the community, rebuild severed relationships, reestablish truck, and foster a renewed sense of belonging. The other half of the program will provide job preparation/placement, vocational training, and educational intervention to improve their skills and enhance their future educational and career development. The combined services shall be offered to ex-offenders on the islands of Oahu and East Hawaii
