Demolition of existing comfort station and all work necessary to prepare the site for the construction of the new comfort station improvements. The scope of work includes but is not limited to demolition and disposal of various materials and equipment; clearing and grubbing; preparation of the site for new construction; backfilling and compacting voids after removal with imported granular structural fill materials; and all miscellaneous and appurtenant work necessary to prepare the site for new improvements in accordance with the contract documents. Measures for the protection of the environment and general public, in place complete. Work includes but is not limited to furnishing, installing, maintaining, repairing and the subsequent removal of various temporary Best Management Practices (BMPs) for dust, erosion and sediment controls; good housekeeping; temporary safety fences, barricades, gates, signs and traffic controls; watering of the project site and other dust control measures, as required; construction ingress/egress, sediment control filter at catch basins and drain inlets, compost filter socks, sediment containment device for waste concrete; restoration work, miscellaneous work and materials appurtenant to reduce dust, erosion and stormwater pollution; tree protection and preservation measures in accordance with the plans and specifications, and as directed by the Officer-inCharge onsite. The Contractor shall be responsible to designate and provide a qualified individual to perform the duties, roles and responsibilities of the Erosion and Sediment Control Plan (ESCP) Coordinator in accordance with the provisions of the City and County of Honolulu, Department of Planning and Permitting’s Rules Relating to Water Quality and as specified in the plans and specifications. The Contractor shall submit the name, phone number, mailing address, email address and current certification number of the ESCP Coordinator to the Officer-in-Charge at least two (2) weeks prior to commencing work for review and acceptance.
