The intermediary is expected to communicate with the requesting office’s Point of Contact and shall provide a summary report of the services provided to school(s). Support shall be available during STATE business hours (7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Monday through Friday; except on holidays). The STATE is seeking an intermediary that will support educators in the following ways: 3.1.1 Educator training 3.1.1.1 Educator externships 3.1.1.1.1 Survey educators to assess externship interest area twice a school year at the beginning of each semester (Fall and Spring). 3.1.1.1.2 Meet with educators to clarify the educators’ goals and expectations of the externship. 3.1.1.1.3 Recruiting industry partners to mentor educators for the externship. 3.1.1.1.4 Craft an externship experience and clarify roles and responsibilities of the educator and industry mentor. 3.1.1.1.5 Monitor the externship through site visits and interviews. 3.1.1.1.6 Collect evidence of the externship which may include interview, photographs, video, reflections, and project lesson plans. 3.1.1.2 In collaboration with state office and complex area staff and Career and Technical Education (CTE) coordinators, assess need for professional development (PD) related to work-based learning, plan PD, and conduct PD. 3.1.1.3 Assist in facilitating partnerships between educators/schools/complex areas offices/state offices and industry. 3.1.2 Student internships 3.1.2.1 In collaboration with school educators, find industry partners that are willing to host student interns that meets the educational goals of the student. 3.1.2.2 Facilitate the internship relationship between industry and educator. 3.1.2.2.1 Assist with required work-based learning forms. 3.1.2.2.2 Assist with STATE-required background checks, including the harm-tostudent registry check (for industry partners and mentors). 3.1.2.2.3 Finding a provider for background checks. 3.1.2.2.4 Working with industry partners to ensure requirements are met. 3.1.2.3 In collaboration with school educators, conduct training for students to prepare them for internships. 3.1.2.4 In collaboration with school educators, assist in monitoring student experience. 3.1.2.5 Collect evidence of the externship, which may include interviews, photographs, videos, reflections, and projects.
