Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Hawai‘i, Department of Health (HDOH), Family Health Services Division (FHSD), Children with Special Health Needs Branch (CSHNB), Early Intervention Section (EIS), is requesting information, feedback, questions, and considerations from potential applicants who may be interested in submitting a proposal for an upcoming request for proposal (RFP) opportunity. EIS will be requesting proposals for the purpose of providing family-centered, community- based, early intervention (EI) services for infants and toddlers (and their families), birth to three years of age, with developmental delays and/or a diagnosed physical or mental condition that has a high probability of resulting in a developmental delay, hereinafter referred to as child. EI services are provided in conformity with the child’s Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP) within the child’s natural environment. The EI services being requested are to support the delivery of EI services statewide as specified in the IFSP and within specific geographical areas. The following EI services will be requested in the RFP: assistive technology; care coordination; family training, counseling, and home visits (FTCHV); FTCHV-hearing; FTCHV-positive behavioral support; occupational therapy; physical therapy; psychology; social work; special instruction; and speech language pathology. Potential applicants are not required to provide all listed EI services; potential awardees must be able to provide at least one of the EI services stated above. The mission of Part C early intervention is to build upon and provide supports and resources to assist family members and caregivers to enhance their child’s learning and development within their daily routines and activities.
