Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project will involve the development of new bus maintenance facilities at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport: one facility to accommodate electric-powered buses for the Consolidated Rental Car operations, and another facility to replace the current Wiki-Wiki Bus Maintenance Facility. The new maintenance facilities may include, but not limited to, electric charging stations, maintenance bays (to perform “light” to “medium” ranged maintenance service), vehicle wash areas, vacuum equipment, air hoses (for tire maintenance), vehicle access control systems, parking areas, office spaces, restrooms, utility infrastructure, and roadway construction. The site(s) considered for the bus maintenance facilities are still being studied, but the sites considered may require building demolition and hazardous material abatement; potentially including contaminated soils and groundwater (contaminated with petroleum based products, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) materials, chlorinated solvents, pesticide residuals, etc.), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), lead, and asbestos.
