LCWSA seeks qualified firms experienced in stream restoration/stabilization design, permitting, and construction to submit on the Yahoola Creek Stream Restoration Project. The design and construction of the project is expected to be funded by local SPLOST funds. The goals of the project include: • Reduce sediment and phosphorus entering Yahoola Creek within Yahoola Creek Park by stabilizing streambanks, establishing vegetative buffers, and other measures. • Improve safety and access to the creek for visitors to Yahoola Creek Park. • Improve viewscape for park visitors. • Improve aquatic habitat in Yahoola Creek. • Promote public awareness of watersheds, water quality, and benefits of stream restoration. The objectives of the project include: • Implement stream restoration/stabilization of Yahoola Creek within Yahoola Creek Park. • Solicit input from LCWSA director and internal stakeholders such as the LCWSA board on the design and construction final product. • Conduct quality project management and QA/QC protocols. • Submit monthly invoices and project status reports. • Provide the LCWSA project manager regular email updates, phone calls, and detailed project status reports. • Obtain necessary permits from local, state, and federal authorities. • Review existing LIDAR data and obtain additional topographical survey as required for design. • Conduct a geomorphic survey of stream banks and streambed, establish permanent benchmarks for future comparison. • Conduct necessary modeling for design and permitting. • Prepare preliminary 30% design and 60% design plans. • Prepare landscape plan. • Prepare summary of project for public information on LCWSA website. • Prepare and install public education signs for installation at the park. • Install stream and landscape improvements.
