Specifications include, but are not limited to: Direct therapy services shall be provided on a regular and on-going basis to students as an integral part of the educational program SLPs shall work closely with classroom staff to assure continuity and consistency of speech/language goals and objectives developed by the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) committee. Duties of the SLP shall include, but are not limited to: Response to Intervention (RTI) involvement for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Student Support Team (SST) Comprehensive diagnostic services Direct services intervention based on standards of the profession Data-collection IEP development Attending required due process meetings Attending system-wide staff trainings for SLPs Working collaboratively with system personnel involved in serving children with speech-language impairments. SLPs may be asked to provide services for students on their caseload who are medically unable to attend school. In these cases, the SLP may provide services in the home during the day or after school hours. The district will utilize Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) if Speech Language Pathologists are not available or in special circumstances. SLPAs will complete therapy, progress monitor, and participate in meetings under the auspices of a licensed SLP.
