Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1 Provide all equipment, labor and materials as required to resurface and regrade athletic fields at certain park locations. 1.2 Remove 4” of existing field turf, add 4” of topsoil and laser grade to achieve a .5% grade on all fields listed above. All spoils must be disposed of off site at contractor’s expense. 1.3 Mark all irrigation heads prior to removal of existing turf. 1.4 Sod shall be installed within 36 hours of cutting. 1.5 Sod shall be on rolls that are 42” wide with netting to hold together, netting shall be removed prior to installation. Sod shall be rolled by a 5‐ton steel wheel roller to eliminate air pockets, provide a true and even surface to insure knitting without any displacement of the sod or deformation of the surfaces of the sodded areas. 1.6 Provide and install all equipment and materials as necessary to install sod. 1.7 All sod shall be cut at an inch and a half (1 ½) depth 1.8 All seams in sod when laid must be kept tight and together at all times. When rolling out sod the seams will be pulled together and tight throughout the process. 1.9 Sod shall not be laid on top of existing sod or overlap corners. 1.10 Removal of existing irrigation heads prior to construction and capping or plugging all openings in the irrigation lines to keep foreign objects from entering the pipe that would cause obstructions. All water lines are to be flushed thoroughly before final walk through. All irrigation heads to be raised flush once the turf is sodded. 1.11 Sodding Specifications: Variety of turfgrass listed is from most desirable to least (no other turfgrasses will be considered): Tiftuf bermudagrass, Tifsport bermudagrass, and Tifway bermudagrass. Big Roll Sod (2.5 Acres total surface) for each playing surface. 1.12 Owner will be responsible for grow-in; but, contractor is to provide a grow-in maintenance plan and make at least two site visits after completion of the installation and during the grow in period of 90-120 days. All sod must be planted between April 1st and June 30th. .
