Specifications include, but are not limited to: Under the direction of the Public Works Department, provide crew(s) with the proper number of personnel and equipment to perform road and stormwater maintenance identified in the scope and in assigned work orders. Adequate personnel must be provided to meet safety requirements at all times including personnel with traffic control certification. Provide equipment and vehicles necessary to complete the tasks as described and within the timeframes specified. Maintain equipment in a clean and professional condition reflecting the City’s high standards. For all work provided to the City of Dunwoody, the Contractor(s) shall meet the following general requirements: 1. Comply with all OSHA and other applicable federal and state statutes, regulations and standards for workplace safety and all applicable laws regarding hazardous material. 2. Complete work in accordance with the Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications and city standards unless otherwise directed. 3. Communicate with the Mayor, City Council and media services only through the Director of Public Works, unless otherwise authorized. Dispose of all excavated construction materials and other waste. Disposal shall be in accordance with all applicable laws. Construction debris is currently hauled to the Doraville Transfer Station with the disposal cost paid by the city. 4. Maintain a current Utility Contractor license with the State of Georgia. The City maintains 150 centerline miles of roadway and over 60 miles of sidewalks. Maintenance activities of the Contractor will include but are not limited to: • Sidewalk maintenance o Remove and replace damaged sections of sidewalk o Install curb ramps in accordance with ADA requirements o Construct short segments of new sidewalk • Curb and gutter o Remove and replace damaged sections of curb and gutter o Install short sections of new curb and gutter o Clean gutters • Pavement maintenance o Fill potholes with cold patch when hot mix is not available o Perform pavement repairs and patching Remove damaged areas by saw cutting to a minimum depth of 4 inches. Excavate soft subgrade and backfill with compacted material as directed by Public Works’ engineers Clean and tack the edges of the patch Place and compact Superpave asphalt o For repairs 10 feet by 10 feet or larger place asphalt using an asphalt spreader o Repair pavement cuts by DeKalb County to repair or service water and sewer lines Remove steel plate and store at the maintenance facility for DeKalb County to pick up Excavate soft subgrade and backfill with compacted material as directed by Public Works’ engineers Square asphalt edges if necessary Clean and tack the edges of the patch Place and compact Superpave asphalt
