Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Savannah is seeking a developer to build, manage, and operate a first class recreational facility at the former Fairgrounds site. In issuing this RFP, the City (Owner) is seeking to sell for $1.00 a pad site to the highest ranked responsible proposer for the development, operation, and management of a world-class multifunctional recreational building to provide low-cost recreation related services and amenities to the public; including both the surrounding communities and City as a whole. At least four to six indoor basketball courts to facilitate mass-play and tournament events; An indoor running track; A fitness room to include cardiovascular and weight resistance training equipment, floor pads, mirrors, and related furniture, fixtures, and equipment; A full size commercial grade kitchen and dining area; Classroom and meeting spaces; Facilitation and management of services currently offered at the Tatemville Community Center; said services to be transferred to the proposed new facility and include senior programs, after-school youth programs, meeting spaces, and more. Optional service: as an option for the City to consider, the proposer should also provide facility space for rent to entrepreneurs and small business prospects for food and beverage services (concessions), sporting goods/supplies, and related retail activities that support the various recreational activities to be programmed at the facility.
