Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Provision of Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Services on Annual Contract with four (4) options to renew for various Gwinnett County departments. The purpose of this annual contract is to provide the services of carpet cleaning, protection, sanitizing, and upholstery cleaning for multiple departments and facilities throughout Gwinnett County. The types of flooring that will not receive cleaning includes but is not limited to tile floors, hardwood, VCT, LVT, or marble floors. Most of the upholstery will consist of seating in public areas of County facilities; however, other types of upholstery may need to be cleaned including but not limited to curtains, acoustic tiles, and sofas. The services will include two different work elements: 1) an Annual Program of Scheduled Cleanings to be performed with a set fee schedule and 2) On Demand and Emergency Services to be performed on request and billed on a time and material basis. Contract pricing shall be based on square footage for carpet and hourly rate for upholstery cleaning, spot cleaning, and carpet sanitization. Award may be made in entirety or in part. Scheduled cleaning will vary by department and by facility. There is no guaranteed minimum annual scope of service. The requirements of each department are stated here with some general stipulations that apply to all departments. Most services will be scheduled in advance at a set time each year to complete full carpet and upholstery cleaning of an entire facility. Additional on-demand scheduled service may be requested and must be completed within one week of the request. These may be for smaller areas due to moves or additional cleaning of limited high traffic areas. The carpet square foot charge for scheduled service will be an all-inclusive rate and there will be no additional charge for equipment, supplies, administration, or overhead. Likewise, the upholstery cleaning charge will be an all-inclusive rate. Emergency service for spots or single pieces of furniture must be completed the same day if notified before noon or by noon the next day if notified after noon and will be priced the same as regular service plus a single emergency trip charge. There will be no trip charge for scheduled service.
