Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. All work shall be done in accordance with instructions from the Owner’s representative, the Director of Maintenance, Mr. Rex Baker of the Gordon County School System, or his designee for all commons area within the schools/locations of the Gordon County Schools System. B. Workmanship shall be of good quality and be in accordance with or equal to the standards of the industry. All work shall be square, level, true to line, neat and appropriate for the work being done. C. All mowing machines used within one hundred fifty (150) feet of a building must be equipped with a deflector designed to keep rocks, grass clippings, and other debris from doing physical harm to persons and facilities. Extreme caution must be used by workers using equipment in and around buildings. The safety of children and personnel is paramount. D. All mowing debris and discharge from the mowing machine shall be directed away from outside air conditioning condenser units, freezer coils, windows and doors. Expense to repair damage to facilities and exterior equipment caused by mowing will be the responsibility of the mowing contractor. The Director of Maintenance shall direct charges to the contractor for payment to the Gordon County Board of Education. • Mowing schedule will begin the last half of March and continue through the end of October. Successful contractor shall be working with Mr. Rex Baker, Facility Manager for Gordon County School System and the Principal at each school to assist in the scheduling for each school/location. Testing periods shall be taken into consideration and may necessitate changes in mowing dates and times. • All schools/locations shall be mowed no more than four (4) days prior to open house date. Schedules to have this completed shall be provided to Mr. Rex Baker no later than the first working day in July of each contracted year. • Successful contractor shall pick up all trash, mow grass, weed eat, edge, rid all sidewalks, curbs, streets and parking areas of any unsightly debris during each scheduled mowing. • November mulch rake or bag all leaves to remove from all schools/locations. During all other scheduled services successful contractor shall remove leaves as needed to maintain a neat appearance. • All fencing and shrub beds shall be kept free of weeds using string trimmers and/or herbicides. Herbicide band width shall be narrow. • Trim any small shooters off shrubs upon each visit with one major pruning in February. • Trim all trees in February to a height of 10 feet. Trees shall be pruned throughout the contract period to avoid interfering with bus and truck traffic. No tree or shrub shall ever become a safety or security issue. • In February and July (2 weeks prior to open house) bed shape all shrub beds and replace pine straw.
