Specifications include, but are not limited to: Dougherty County School System (DCSS) is requesting proposals from qualified organizations that provide high-energy programming intended to bring GEAR UP Dougherty students together for an end-of-year celebration. GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a federal program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of this program is to increase the number of lowincome students who are prepared to enter and succeed in education after high school. 1. The organization must have experience designing, implementing, and evaluating end-ofyear celebration events for GEAR UP programs (state or partnership). 2. The program must be willing to provide on-site programming at each school, which shall consist of a hype session not to exceed 1.5 hours. 3. The organization must provide enough staff and materials to accommodate up to 670 students per school. Key Desired Features/Functions: 1. Sessions must incorporate a college and/or career component designed to get students excited about the benefits of GEAR UP. 2. The session should also encourage students to consider how their non-academic skills (i.e., soft skills) will better prepare them for education beyond high school. 3. Programming shall incorporate varying teaching styles and strategies that promote diversity, inclusion, and equity to accommodate all students.
