In order to continue to support and ensure rapid response to public health emergencies freight services are needed to provide shipping of personal protective equipment (PPE’s), testing supplies, vaccine supplies, and ventilators from the Public Heath warehouse to our healthcare, first responder, and public health partners, in support of community health protection and during emergencies. The purpose of this contract is to provide a white glove Freight Services for Emergency Preparedness and Response team responds to public health emergencies. The shipments generally are too large to be shipped using parcel shipping contracts, and require specialized equipment such as tractor trailers, box trucks, sprinter vans, vehicles with liftgates, vehicles that are dock height, and some require a white glove service for sensitive items. The shipments may be done on an as needed basis and not on a regularly scheduled pickup, which will require 24/7 availability to schedule and have material picked up from the warehouse or from healthcare/public health partners and delivered to their destination. Contractor shall complete the following actions, tasks, obligations, and responsibilities: A. Contractor will have access to the following equipment that is readily available or can be sourced to provide requested services: 1. Tractor trailers, 2. Box trucks, 3. Sprinter vans, 4. Courier vehicles 5. Vehicles with dock height gates, and lift gates, 6. Cargo management (to include but not limited to straps, padding, cargo bars, nets) 7. Pallet jacks for deliveries (if needed). The Contractor shall have and maintain adequate transportation during business hours of operations of 24 hours a day 7 days a week, official state holidays, which include but may not be limited to: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day or other recognized holidays in the state as deemed.
