Project Description: Phase I: Construction of a parking lot containing approximately 350 parking spaces. The parking lot will include sidewalks both within the parking lot and around the exterior of the parking lot, a dedicated bike lane through the parking lot, retention ponds, lighting and landscaping. Phase II: The demolition and replacement of Walnut Street from MLK to 7th Street. The new construction will include a dedicated two-lane bike lane so bike traffic can enter and exit the Park. The construction of new sidewalks, including a sidewalk under the trestle going to MLK. The new construction will align with the parking lot and include lighting and landscaping. Schedule: Phase I to be completed as soon as possible Phase II – meetings to coordinate with the existing utilities in / around Walnut Street will proceed. The utilities may impact the final design. Final design will begin when all potential utility conflicts have been resolved.
