Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Covington has a small venue where these types of events will be conducted, entitled Legion Field. The venue is located in a downtown location with residential properties nearby; the quality of life for these residents can be affected by sound generated during these events. Legion Field is an eight-acre site located on Mill Street in downtown Covington. The Covington City Council has approved the location of sound equipment and decibel limits for events conducted at Legion Field. Use of the venue is limited by regulations adopted by the Covington City Council intended to balance use of the venue with the quality of life of surrounding residents. In previous years, there have been few guidelines or restrictions on outside vendors hosting events at the location. The City of Covington Council has requested revisions to Legion Field policy. Recognizing the technical expertise necessary in hosting live events, the City’s Community Development department staff are seeking consult with companies for best practices in the area. Serve as the point of contact for live-events to outside licensees and production companies to ensure compliance of City of Covington ordinances Would qualify to provide equipment for sound production for each said event, and assist in the development of policies in live-event venue administration and execution Provides technical assistance to the City of Covington also be an option for live-event production for these outside vendors who may not have a production company already assigned Any production company engaged to control the light and sound will be responsible for both adherence and enforcement of Covington City Ordinance 8.20.030, during the event The City of Covington is requiring all production companies interested in providing these services for events at Legion Field submit a qualification package that will allow the Community Development Department of the City of Covington to review the applicant’s qualifications and decide if those qualifications are sufficient to grant approval for the technical assistance and consulting services requested. The City of Covington will require the production company selected to enter into an agreement with the city providing the amount the production company may charge for services and may remove any production company from the agreed role in the event of a violation of Covington City Ordinance 8.20.030 or related ordinance.
