The Savannah State University (SSU), pursuant to the State Purchasing Act (Official Code of Georgia Annotated 50-5-50 et. Seq.), is issuing an Electronic Request for Quote (eRFQ) to one or more qualified suppliers to provide a self-contained cabinet X-ray irradiation system, or equivalent. The system will be used for controlled irradiation of biological materials and must meet the technical, safety, and performance requirements outlined herein. This RFQ is intended to identify a responsible supplier capable of providing equipment comparable in form, function, and performance to an Xstrahl C1X2, without restricting competition to a specific manufacturer. Specifications include, but are not limited to: The awarded supplier shall provide: • One (1) new, unused, self-contained cabinet X-ray irradiation system, or equivalent. • All standard components, accessories, shielding, and software required for full operation. • Delivery to a State-designated facility within the State of Georgia. • On-site installation, system setup, and operational verification. o The supplier shall provide on-site installation, commissioning, and performance validation, including radiation safety checks and compliance certification. • Initial system calibration and acceptance testing. o The supplier shall perform initial system calibration at the time of installation by a qualified service engineer. o Calibration shall include verification and adjustment of: X-ray tube voltage (kV) and current (mA) accuracy, Exposure time or dose delivery accuracy, Dose rate output at specified source-to-sample distances and Beam uniformity within the irradiation chamber o Calibration measurements shall be carried out using traceable, calibrated dosimetry instruments in accordance with recognized standards. o Acceptance testing shall be conducted jointly with the user to confirm that the system meets all specified technical and safety requirements. o Acceptance tests shall include, at minimum: Radiation output and reproducibility, Safety interlocks and emergency stop functionality, Radiation leakage levels at all accessible external surfaces and System software functionality and user controls o The supplier shall provide written calibration and acceptance test reports, including measured values, tolerances, and compliance statements. o The system shall be considered accepted only after successful completion of calibration and documented acceptance testing.
