Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Contractor shall furnish uniformed guards, wearing picture identification badges, to assist in the proper protection of students, visitors, employees, and property of the University campus. The Contractor shall assist in the following duties: a. Patrolling the main campus area b. Checking for leaking or running water (both inside and outside buildings) and alerting the Facilities Maintenance Division (FMD) of leakage c. Constantly checking facilities for smoke or fire and alerting the Griffin Fire Department in the case of fire or emergency d. Escorting students and employees of the Griffin campus from buildings to their cars or visitor housing upon request e. Checking security of buildings and grounds f. Preventing the removal of University property by unauthorized persons g. Checking individuals for proper identification as required or as appropriate h. Locking University building doors and vehicles i. Closing and opening security gates at the entrance of the campus j. Reporting nonfunctioning street lamps k. Turning off lights in unoccupied rooms or buildings (excluding greenhouses) l. Checking coffee makers to make sure they are turned off m. Performing other security duties as required and as detailed by the Superintendent of Plant Operations and Engineering
