This work shall consist of constructing a 45-degree asphaltic concrete fillet along the pavement edge (seediagram below), on each road being resurfaced, where curb and gutter is not present or residential roadposted 25 mph. This fillet wedge shall be mechanically constructed at the time each pavement course isplaced, by an attachment to the spreader or other method approved by the Engineer. The wedge shouldextend at a 45- degree (or flatter) angle from the top edge of each paving course to the existing earthshoulder grade.Any additional labor or equipment necessary to place this asphalt fillet shall be considered incidental tothe resurfacing operation, and no additional compensation will be made with the exception of the extraasphalt material being paid for at the bid unit price for the particular material being used.
