Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the C-5 direct linear valve NSN 4820001614098UC. The Purchase Request number is FD20602600080.
ITEM DESCRIPTION
Dual shuttle hydraulic 20 GPM direct linear valve used for directional control of hydraulic fluid on the C-5 aircraft. Item material is steel and aluminum. Length is 9.97 inches, width is 2.7 inches, height is 2 inches, and weight is 1.5 pounds.
Impediment to Competition:
The original equipment manufacturer for these items is PneuDraulics Inc. (CAGE 06177), which maintains its configuration by part number. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, PneuDraulics Inc. is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the subject directional control valve performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility with the equipment.
INTEREST
The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to ITT Aerospace Controls LLC for the manufacture of the subject directional control valve in support of the C-5 aircraft. Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 5 Jan 2026 by emailing Kaleb Medders at kaleb.medders@us.af.mil and/or Todd.Stimus@us.af.mil. The Government intends to procure this item using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
