A. Repair all damaged areas of the parking lot by removing existing damaged asphalt and replacing with new asphalt. All areas must be compacted and replaced to match the surrounding area depths. B. Sealcoating B.1. Prior to sealcoating, unsatisfactory areas shall be repaired, and the surface of the pavement shall be clean and free from any vegetation, dust, dirt, or other loose, foreign matter, grease, oil, or any type of objectionable surface film. B.2. The pavement shall be swept with hand brooms or power sweepers. B.3. Grates, manholes, or any other drainage structure shall be protected from the surface material. B.4 Areas that have been subject to fuel or oil spillage shall be wire brushed to remove any debris accumulations. The area shall then be primed with tack coat to prevent the sealcoat from de-bonding. B.5. Sealer product specification sheet is required along with mix design and application rate specification sheet as part of the Bid Packet. Please specify the application process that you will be using (sprayed or squeegeed by machine or hand or a combination) Material tickets may be requested by HCSD to verify the quantity of sealer being applied. B.6. Sealcoating must be applied over the entire square footage of the parking lot prior to striping. B.7. Two coats are to be applied. C. Striping C.1. Striping paint product specification sheet is required as part of the Bid Packet. Material tickets may be requested by HCSD to verify the quantity of sealer being applied. C.2. All parking space numbers will be omitted and blacked out prior to sealcoat application beginning. C.3. Two coats are to be applied at minimum.
