General Requirements: A. Deputy Public Works Director / Support Staffing- Provide a full-time, on-site, Deputy Public Works Director with exclusive responsibility to the City of Brookhaven. Provide an acting Public Works Director during periods of leave and vacancy of the Public Works Director. Development and execution management of projects supporting master planning documents. Provide dedicated support staffing to assign, follow-up, and report citizen service requests, general inquiries from the City staff, elected officials, media, etc. Maintain the appropriate logs and tracking records of the resolution of all such requests and complaints. Act as a liaison for outside agencies on infrastructure matters including, but not limited to, Georgia Department of Transportation, neighboring cities and counties, Georgia Power, DeKalb County (Watershed, Sanitation, GIS, Public Works, etc.), Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Atlanta Regional Commission, Federal Highway Administration, Metropolitan Atlanta Regional Transit Authority, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and neighboring CIDs. Includes enforcement authority for noticing and citations in coordination with the Community Development and Police Department functions. Assist City management in the development of the annual operating and capital budgets, with a special emphasis on progress and execution of the City’s master planning documents. B. Stormwater Management- Provide technically qualified staffing to respond to emergency repairs, coordinate maintenance, development services support, watershed improvement and drainage project management, regulatory reporting, and fee administration with the DeKalb County Tax Commissioner’s Office.
