Specifications include, but are not limited to: Equipment design must meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and utilize International Playground Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA) certified equipment that meets or exceeds all federal and state guidelines and conforms to the playground-related technical standards set by the American Society of Testing Materials International (ASTM) and the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CSPC). Contractor must be manufacturer-authorized to sell equipment where such authorization is granted by the manufacturer. The relationship with the manufacturer must be direct and not indirect through a third party. Proposals should provide proof of direct authorization by the manufacturer to sell and install the equipment within Tab A as listed in Section D. Qualifications of this RFP. The Contractor is responsible for the demolition and removal of existing equipment, all sitework, removal and disposal of the spoils, installation of concrete curb at 4” wide, crushed and compacted stone sub-base and poured rubber surfacing. The Contractor shall ensure the installation of the stone sub-base shall confirm to the unitary playground surfaces and bound together to make a smooth play surface. The Contractor shall ensure that the poured rubber surface meets the fall height up to 13 fee per ASTM F-1292, the industry’s standard test to evaluate a surface’s ability to absorb shock from a fall. An aromatic rubber surface binder, with a minimum of 50% standard color, a minimum of 1.5” top wear course cap shall be used for the surface.
