The Georgia Forestry Commission will accept bids until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, for the unit sale of pine and hardwood on 457 acres of U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service property in Jones County. The sale area is located approximately eleven (11) miles northwest of Gray, GA; location is described more precisely on the attached maps. The location is further described by Georgia Atlas & Gazetteer page 34, block C4 & C5. This timber sale consists of 457 acres designated as a thinning. This sale consists of both marked to cut, marked to leave and operator selection areas. See the attached “Timber Harvest Contract” for detailed instructions on this timber harvest. Our estimate of total timber volume is 11,438 tons of pine and 3,637 tons of hardwood; volume is not guaranteed. Product volume estimate is available upon request. Prospective buyers are encouraged to make their own determination of product volumes.
