The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) is seeking a proven turnkey modular correctional buildings solution that can be used at multiple GDC facilities as maximum-security correctional housing units and as correctional medical buildings as a faster and less expensive alternative to the traditional design and build process. The modular buildings must be designed and manufactured using the same standards as a traditional permanent correctional building and meet all applicable building codes. GDC’s expectation is that the modular buildings would be manufactured off-site at the supplier’s facility and then transported in partially completed segments to the designated GDC facility and installed at the prepared site within the perimeter of the GDC facility. For maximum-security correctional housing units, GDC is seeking a solution that allows for cells that can accommodate up to two offenders per cell. For correctional medical buildings, GDC is seeking a solution that provides multiple exam rooms, at least one secured pharmaceutical room, at least one medical records room that is secured by at least two doors, a room for dental and/or optometry services, at least one radiology laboratory, a physical therapy room and a negative pressure room. All buildings must support the use of modern correctional security measures such as electronic locking systems and video surveillance systems. GDC prefers a correctional building solution that includes complete electronic locking systems and video surveillance systems in the final delivered product but that allows for GDC to select the electronic locking system and video surveillance system utilized to ensure compatibility with existing GDC systems.
