Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. This project consists of providing a liquid blend of phosphate chemical product used for water treatment and distribution operations at the Amerson Water Treatment Plant. This product serves as a corrosion inhibitor for the insides of the pipes and water mains throughout the entire water distribution system. The product shall interrupt the electrochemical process of corrosion, rather than depending on film formation or scale-building mechanisms for corrosion control. The product shall work through an operating pH range of at least 6.5 – 8.5. The product shall be non-toxic and safe for use in domestic potable water systems. An estimated eight (8) loads of approximately 4,000 gallons per load shall be supplied over a twelve (12) months period for an estimated annual cost of $266,560.00 (4,000 gal per load X $8.33 per gallon X 8 loads).
