Specifications include, but are not limited to: The provider selected will provide all professional healthcare services to inmates and other detainees at the Lee County Jail, to include mental health services, basic dental care and all associated administrative and medical record management. The average monthly inmate census of the Jail for the previous 12 months is 80. The minimum level of Healthcare Services to be provided is as follows: Physician Care. Staffing of a licensed Physician (MD) as “Medical Director” who shall be the responsible medical authority for the Jail. The physician must be prepared to conduct inmate sick calls at the Jail at least one day per week and be able to render general medical care similar to that available in the community. Nursing Care. Staffing of a sufficient number of competent Licensed Practical Nurses or Licensed Registered Nurses to provide adequate medical staff coverage 16 hours per weekday and 12 hours per weekend day. This nursing staff shall conduct sick call triage, dispense medication, conduct medical screenings for incoming arrestees and see any inmate who might need immediate medical attention. Mental Health. Staffing of a Mental Health Professional to oversee the mental healthcare of inmates confined in the Jail. This Mental Health Professional will conduct mental health evaluations on an as-needed basis, whenever circumstances at the Jail so require, including emergency consultations. Either Provider or the Mental Health Professional shall conduct screenings and examinations of inmates with mental health issues and will assess and administer mental health medications and treatment. Dental Care. Staffing of a Georgia Licensed Dentist, 1 to 2 times per month, as needed. With explanation of Dental Services provided.
