Specifications include, but are not limited to: Qualified service providers for the provision of Health Services for Inmates of the Clarke County Jail, on an Annual Contract for the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), with four options to renew. 1. Delivery of high quality healthcare services that can be audited against National Commission on Correctional Healthcare (NCCHC) standards. 2. Operate the health services program at full 24-hour staffing and to use only licensed, certified and professionally trained personnel, including 24-hour on-call physicians, mental health counselors capable of approving a 10-13, 24 hours per day and dental services. 3. Operate the health services program in a cost-effective manner with full reporting and accountability to the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County (ACCGov). 4. Implement a written healthcare plan with clear objectives, policies, procedures and annual evaluation of compliance including as much in-house medical facilitation as equipped to administer. 5. Maintain an open collaborative relationship with the administration and staff of the CCSO and ACCGov, working with the security staff to ensure 24-hour inmate medical attention, relieving the security staff of any medical performing functions, i.e. medication dispersion, CPR, etc. 6. Maintain standards established by the NCCHC for health services in jails. The Clarke County Jail is NCCHC accredited and the last audit was completed in 2021. The contractor shall be prepared to meet all NCCHC standards and assume responsibility to maintain accreditation of the Clarke County Jail at their expense.
