The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is planning to construct a new Region 10 Investigative Office located in Conyers, Georgia. This facility will house Region 10 Investigative personnel, the Gang Task Force Unit, and other operationally complementary units. Region 10 is the GBI’s busiest regional investigative office, serving the metro Atlanta area, including Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Newton, and Rockdale counties. The current facility is 38 years old, with an addition completed in 1996 and three modular trailers added in 2016. Combined, these structures provide just 7,188 square feet of workspace. At present, 23 employees are assigned to region 10. The Gang Task Force operates from a separate 4,000-square-foot building on the same property and includes 10 personnel.
