Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this solicitation is to establish multiple contracts and contractors for the furnishing, delivery, installation and maintenance of anti-icing and de-icing liquid storage and dispensing systems as required by the Massachusetts Highway Department. The anti-icing and deicing systems are to be delivered and installed at the Massachusetts Highway Department Depots listed in EXHIBIT 2. It is the intent of this specification to describe an upright tank, constructed of polyethylene resins that will be used to contain anti-icing liquids used for winter pavement maintenance . Generally, such liquids have a specific gravity ranging from 1.23 to 1.35. Examples of the liquids used are sodium chloride, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, potassium acetate and ethylene glycol. Additionally this specification will describe an enclosed product pump, valved manifold and connecting hoses and valves used to dispense, load, offload and re-circulate liquid melting agents used for winter maintenance by the Massachusetts Highway Department.
