Specifications include, but are not limited to: The new one story building is approximately 30,000 SF in area and is a steel frame structure. The new facility will contain, but is not limited to, offices for the District Engineer, general and administrative spaces, offices for the Pre-Construction and Construction Departments, Maintenance, Contract and Traffic Departments, and Utilities. The facility will also contain rest rooms, a break room, storage rooms and spaces for copiers and printing. Support rooms such as mechanical, electrical rooms will be provided. The exterior walls are masonry with light gauge metal structural stud backup and CMU backup around the perimeter of the training/assembly rooms. The primary exterior finish is brick veneer. The exterior walls will have continuous insulation meeting the current energy code requirements. The floor is concrete slab on grade and the foundation is cast-in-place concrete on cast-in-place strip footings. The roof construction will be light gauge metal trusses supporting galvanized metal deck, rigid insulation meeting the current energy code requirements and prefinished metal standing seam roof. The interior walls are predominately gypsum board with metal studs. CMU will be used around the training room/assembly rooms. The interior finishes will be selected to offer high durability and low maintenance. The mechanical will be an efficient and energy saving VRF system with individual ventilation for the interior spaces. The electrical systems and interior distribution will be designed to give maximum consideration to flexibility, reliability and energy conservation and will include telecommunication/data, security and fire alarm systems. The facility will contain a fire suppression system.
