Requirement No. 1 The scope of this contract is for the demolition and proper disposal of the trade fixtures and miscellaneous structures including: 1. Parcel 3 - MS-1) Business sign – Double faced sign 4 FT x 5 FT reading “Country Kitchen” supported by single steel pole and associated footing. 2. Parcel 4 - MS-1) Business sign – Double faced sign, multiple components, 5 FT x 10 FT reading “Zesto’s” supported by single steel pole and associated concrete base/footing. 3. Parcel 5 - MS-1) Business sign – Double faced sign, multiple components, in 6 FT x 20 FT steel tube “U” shaped frame and associated concrete bases/footings. MS-2) Light standards (5 light standards), fixtures, and associated concrete bases/footings; and MS-3) Sign base (approximately 16 IN x 16 IN x unknown depth), air/vacuum system components, and associated concrete footings. 4. Parcel 13 - MS-1) Light standard, fixture, and associated concrete base/footing. All improvements must be completely demolished and removed from their present site. All demolition debris must be removed and disposed of properly in an appropriate landfill or recycled in accordance with the provisions of the Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act of 1990 and the Georgia Rules for Solid Waste Management Chapter 391-3-4. The work will be completed in strict accordance with the DEMOLITION TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS, Office of Right of Way, Property Management, dated April 2018. (DEMOLITION TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS). Requirement No. 2 Upon receipt of the Purchase Order, the consultant shall submit 811 information for dig permit and utility locates immediately. GA EPD notification through GEOS portal is not required. Requirement No. 3 These acquisitions are partial takes. See Right of Way plans are attached to individual reports. Work shall be accomplished within the demolition easement and the required right of way. Requirement No. 4 Any business from which these items will be removed will remain open and operating. Plan and execute removal of items to minimize disruptions to normal traffic or business operations. Requirement No. 5 All concrete foundations and slabs will be removed from the site and disposed of properly. Do not push demolition debris into the soil. Requirement No. 6 Provide, as necessary, fill dirt in strict accordance with the DEMOLITION TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS to properly slope the site after the structure foundation has been removed. The area from which the structures have been removed and the site disturbed shall be sloped and graded to provide positive drainage (no ponding). Fill dirt shall be compacted in voids to 95% compaction in strict accordance with the DEMOLITION TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS. In paved areas, soil shall be covered with 6” minimum compacted crush n’ run gravel on level with adjacent paving. In nonpaved areas, the grade shall be prepared in accordance with Requirement No. 7 below. Requirement No. 7 The final grade shall be prepared for landscaping by smoothing or raking the surface to remove all debris from the surface. Surface debris includes large dirt clods, rocks, debris from demolition, trash, etc. The soil surface shall be smoothed such that ruts and treads from the excavation equipment are not visible. The final grade shall be in a condition that it can be maintained by a residential lawn mower. Once the new grade has been prepared, the Contractor shall apply temporary seeding and straw cover to stabilize the demolition area and assist in erosion control, as prescribed in the GESA Handbook, 2" - 4" of dry straw covering (Ds1, Ds2) grass seed mixtures based on the season of the year and the geographic area. Requirement No. 8 The escape of sediment from the site shall be prevented by the installation of erosion and sediment control measures and practices prior to, or concurrent with, land disturbing activities. The Contractor is required to follow all erosion, runoff, and sediment control practices, including erecting of silt fencing or other measures as necessary, as required by local, state, and federal regulations. All erosions control measures shall comply with TITLE 12. Conservation and Natural Resources Chapter 7. Control of Soil Erosion and Sedimentation. The design of the erosion control measures will be provided by NPDES trained and certified personnel.
