Project Description: The Georgia Department of Community Supervision plans to build a new Field Office in Columbus, Georgia. The final site has not yet been determined. It is estimated that the building will be around 12,000 gross sq ft. DCS has a defined program for this project centered on three core pillars and needs/wants for each area of the field office: ● Functionality: Optimizing space utilization and flow to meet the specific needs of the building's purpose and occupants. ● Aesthetics: Creating a visually appealing structure that complements DCS’s mission and enhances the employee experience. ● Sustainability: Incorporating materials and energy-efficient systems to minimize repairs and reduce longterm operating costs. Proposed Design Elements: 1. Flooring ● Flooring shall be Polyurea/polyaspartic. ● Cost $6-$12 per sq ft ● Durable and easy to maintain. ● 4-inch black rolled base molding throughout the building. 2. Paint Finishes ● Preferred contract with Sherwin Williams Paint or approved State Contract equal. ● All painting will be primed with two coats of designated paint or stain. ● Exterior Paint: SW7019 Gauntlet Gray ● Interior Pain: SW 7015 Repose Gray Eggshell ● Wood Doors: DB 2107 Driftwood with a clear coat. ● Exterior Doors: SW 7069 Iron Ore ● Outside Trim/Roof: Black Matte 2. Ceilings ● Drop ceiling with 2x2 tiles. ● Sheetrock ceiling in the interview rooms. ● Minimum nine feet ceilings height. 3. Casework & Millwork ● Veneers, laminates, solid surfaces. ● Placement: reception areas, break rooms, interview rooms, bathroom. 4. Hardware & Trim ● Colors and metals: Nickel or stainless steel. ● Consistency across doors, cabinetry, and fixtures. 5. Doors ● Public entrance shall be a glass double door with closer and push bar. ● Employee entrance will be a commercial grade black door with a 7 in x 22 in window with closer. ● Classroom, staff office, breakroom, storage, and conference room doors will be stained with a 7 in x 22 in window. ● Entrance/exit doors, interview rooms on the lobby side, and restrooms will have closers and be stained. 6. Lighting ● 2x4 recessed LEDs. ● Recessed can lights in interview rooms. ● Motion sensors will be installed in all rooms to control the lights. Specialty Room Design 1. Receptionist Area ● Shall have two windows, 4x4 installed level one glass with a pass through try at the bottom. ● Intercom system for both windows. ● Two file cabinets will be installed underneath the counter tops. ● The counter will extend wall to wall with pass through holes for computer cords. ● Room should have 12 receptacles underneath the counter and four on the back wall. ● Cabinet height is 30 inches x 34 inches deep. ● Intercom system should be installed for each 4x4 window. ● This area will accommodate the phone system.
