Project Scope Gordon College desires to have a complete evaluation of the institutionally operated bookstore (Gordon College Bookstore). This evaluation should be done considering the current state of the college bookstore industry. The scope of the analysis is as follows: A. To provide an independent assessment of the operations (including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, websites, customer service, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) B. To assess financial condition and enhancement opportunities in light of industry trends (including comparisons to industry benchmarks, specifically the NACS Annual Financial Survey) C. To identify management options (i.e., self operation versus contract management). D. Determine whether additional staffing, upgrades to automated systems, space or marketing is needed. E. Review current general merchandise sales mix to determine if other revenue generating opportunities exist. F. Determine if the bookstore is meeting the needs of the students, faculty and staff.
