The selected attorney or firm will be expected to provide, at a minimum, the following services: Serve as City Attorney and provide general legal counsel to elected officials, boards, commissions, and City staff. • Attend City Council meetings and other meetings as requested. • Draft, review, and revise ordinances, resolutions, contracts, intergovernmental agreements, and other legal documents. • Provide legal advice on municipal operations, governance, ethics, public records, and open meetings compliance. • Represent the City in litigation, administrative hearings, and court proceedings, or coordinate with special counsel when appropriate. • Advise the City on employment and personnel matters, zoning and land use, procurement, and code enforcement. • Provide timely legal opinions, both written and verbal, as requested by the City. • Ensure compliance with Georgia law and applicable federal regulations.
