Specifications include, but are not limited to: planning, design, and construction administration of up to two telecommunications towers that are suitable for incorporation into Columbia County’s broadband communications network as administered by the Columbia County Community Broadband Utility (C3BU). The towers will be available for use by wireless service providers, and at some time in the future may be incorporated into the county’s public safety radio network, so the tower and shelter must meet applicable standards for use as part of a Motorola 800MHz radio network. The consultant should also be prepared to lead the design of the tower and shelter, participate in the selection of the construction contractor, and manage the resultant construction project with the cooperation of county personnel. The consultant will be responsible to the Manager of the Broadband Utility for technical matters and the Director of Facilities Design and Construction for the construction process.
