Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Atlanta Independent School System (hereinafter, “Atlanta Public Schools” or “APS”) invites qualified vendors to submit a proposal to assist the district in building the capacity of its site-based leadership teams, via targeted professional learning (including PLCs), so they are better equipped to support teachers in designing and delivering effective lessons that will result in enhanced student learning, students taking increased ownership of their learning, and improved teacher practice. Our 65 schools (41 elementary, 10 middle, 1 K-8, 2 Gr. 6-12, and 11 high) are performing at different levels, and will require varying degrees of support. For this reason, it is imperative that a targeted, differentiated, and systematic professional learning approach be implemented. The professional learning experiences must focus on lesson development using a backward-design methodology, and effective delivery including examining instruction. Additionally, the professional learning must include both face-to-face sessions as well as job-embedded coaching and support.
