Specifications include, but are not limited to: INSTALLATION: A. Underground Conduit should be installed using Horizontal Directional Drilling. B. Handholes should be placed approximately every 800 feet. The distance may sometimes be shorter or longer, as the attached route Exhibit A depicts. C. Handholes should have 50’ of slack fiber coiled inside. The coil must not exceed the bend radius of the fiber as specified by the manufacturer. D. A fiber splice enclosure must be added to the handhole at the intersection of ACL Boulevard and Westlake Avenue. E. The fiber will terminate in a provided NEMA enclosure mounted to a 12’ pole at the park. F. Fiber shall be terminated with SC connectors at the park. G. Four fiber strands should be terminated at the park and installed into a four (4) port SC Mini Wall Mount enclosure. H. Two of the four fibers shall be fusion spliced to the existing fiber in the handhole at location 32.050695 – 81.155517 on Highway 17. I. The two fibers will be spliced to the existing fiber that extends to the end location at 222 W. Oglethorpe Avenue. J. The fibers will be terminated at the existing headend at 222 W. Oglethorpe Avenue in an existing LIU using LC connectors. K. A fiber splice enclosure must be added to the handhole at the intersection of ACL Boulevard and Westlake Avenue. L. The complete fiber route shall be tested with an OTDR, and a report showing distance and loss at each splice and connector should be generated. M. Fiber loss per splice and connection should not exceed the range specified in ANSI/TIA 568-C for single-mode fiber. N. The Contractor shall supply As-Built drawings 24”x36” showing the installed route and handhole locations. The Contractor shall provide digital copies of the drawings in .shp and .kmz formats.
