Specifications include, but are not limited to: Athletic Trainer Requirements: 1. Certified athletic trainer 2. First aid and AED/CPR certified 3. Able to evaluate and treat minor injuries 4. Provide preventative taping and strapping of student athletes as needed 5. Provide nutritional information to student athletes 6. Provide recommendations for exercises for minor injuries 7. Assist in establishing a student trainer/manager program 8. Schedule annual pre-participation physicals at the local school 9. Supply an emergency trainer in case the regular trainer is sick or has an emergency 10. Assist with the creation of the EAAP (Emergency Athletic Action Plan) 11. Assist with the training of school personnel on the EAAP 12. Available to cover all four high school athletic seasons as listed below: A. Fall Athletic Season (August – November) 1. Daily athletic training room coverage 2. Morning through evening coverage of Varsity football practices 3. Varsity football practices, home and away 4. Varsity football home and away games 5. Junior Varsity and freshman football practices. 6. Coverage for all other home contests including: a) Cross Country b) Volleyball c) Cheerleading d) Junior Varsity football e) Freshman football f) Cheerleading g) Softball B. Winter Athletic Season (November – February) 1. Daily athletic training room coverage. 2. Coverage for all home contests including: a) Basketball b) Wrestling c) Cheerleading C. Spring Athletic Season (February – May) 1. Daily athletic training room coverage. 2. Coverage for all home contests including: a) Soccer b) Tennis c) Baseball d) Track e) Lacrosse D. Summer Off-Season Training (June – July as needed) 1. Weekly athletic training room injury clinic scheduled and agreed upon by. 2. Certified Athletic Trainer and School. 3. Availability for regularly scheduled Saturday contests and holiday contests.
